Royals Review

Royals Records

With all the pieces seemingly coming together for the Royals, it got me thinking of the Royals HR record. Steve Balboni currently holds the record at 36, which is rather low for a franchise. With Moose, Hosmer, Butler and Gordon as the Royals potential power hitters I was thinking Balboni's record may be broken in the next 5 or so years. Butlers career high is 21, Gordon hit a career high 23 last year, Moose hit 5 last year as a rookie and Hosmer hit 19 as a rookie last year.

FWIW

Only eight players hit 36 HR last year.

Six the year before that.

I think it will be the Royals 4th round draft pick in 2015

And he’ll break the record in 2021. Book it.

I'll put $1

on those odds

Psh, way to be vague about it

I predict his name will be Chace Whittington.

Unless of course

they draft a pitcher

Tell that to Rick Ankiel

I predict Bolt Powerson.

Maybe the draft will be international by then

And the Royals will discover that working class British kids are the new market inefficiency. They know nothing about baseball, but they’re raised on porridge and grit. The HR record will be broken by Karl Pilkington Jr.

It is somewhat sad that we talk about this a lot.

36 is so astronomically low. I had high hopes that Hamelin/Sweeney/Dye/Quinn would shatter it at one time.

Yeah, I think the last serious challengers

Were guys like Dean Palmer, Gary Gaetti and Chili Davis.

And Ken Harvey
You mean All Star Ken Harvey
No one wasn't an option, so I didn't vote.
The real question is:

How long will it take for Yuni to break the Royals grand slam record?

Hosmer, Moustakas, Gordon

And maybe Butler have a chance.

It could be someone else, even.
Jarrod Dyson

37 inside the park home runs.
That’s what speed do!!
